NEW YORK CITY — Campaigning is over, and now Manhattan and Brooklyn residents have made their choice.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Hillary Clinton beat Bernie Sanders 57 percent to 41 percent. On the GOP side, Donald Trump beat his rivals earning 53 percent of Republican votes.
After weeks of debate, campaign rallies and speeches, voters in the 7th Congressional District went to the polls Tuesday to pick Republican and Democratic presidential nominees.
The district includes the following neighborhoods: Sunset Park, Greenwood, Gowanus, Cobble Hills, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, Vinegar Hill, Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Ridgewood, Queens — as well as parts of the Lower East Side.
Seven Democratic and three Republican delegates were up for grabs in the district.
