Nearly $10,000 in Jewelry Stolen Via Open Front Door of Village Home: NYPD

WEST VILLAGE — Two men stole nearly $10,000 worth of jewelry in the middle of a weekday afternoon from a West Village home where the front door had been left open, police said.

The men went inside a home near West 10th and Hudson streets about 3 p.m. on March 31 and stole $9,700 worth of jewelry from the bedroom, police said.

Police are searching for the men who fled after burglarizing the home. 

One is described as being between 45 and 60 years old and was last seen in a hooded sweatshirt with a white zipper over a gray shirt with dark pants and dark sneakers. The other is between 30 and 45 years old, and was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and hat and dark pants and shoes.
