INWOOD — Dozens of firefighters were called to Inwood Hill Park to put out a blaze that erupted in the park's wooded area over the weekend, officials said.

The fire was reported at about 8:06 p.m. Saturday and extinguished nearly 90 minutes later by 60 firefighters who responded to the scene, the FDNY said.

Residents said the blaze could be seen from Seaman Avenue and was located in an area that was difficult to get to, according to comments posted on Facebook. The FDNY said the fire was approximately 75-by-100 feet.

Fire crews blocked off traffic along 207th Street and Seaman Avenue, including two of the park's entrances, for several hours after the fire was extinguished, the FDNY said.

There were no injuries, and no information regarding the cause of the fire was available as of Monday morning, officials said.
