FLATIRON — Eataly’s rooftop bar is planning to open an Italian restaurant at the end of the month, according to a spokeswoman.

The new restaurant, called Sabbia — Italian for sand — will open on April 29, and will be operated by the same people who run Birreria, the rooftop bar and microbrewery atop chef Mario Batali's sprawling food complex, according to a spokeswoman.

Representatives of Eataly, located at 200 Fifth Ave. at the corner of 23rd Street, declined to immediately reveal details about the menu or any other specifics, but according to a release, the restaurant will serve summery cocktails and entrees inspired by the seaside.

“Think cabanas, beach umbrellas, delicious coastal food and summer cocktails,” said Eataly spokeswoman Brianna Buford in an email.
