Man Fatally Struck Crossing Major Deegan, NYPD Says

THE BRONX — A man was fatally struck Thursday morning while walking across the Major Deegan Expressway, police said.

The pedestrian, whose name and age weren't immediately released, was walking east across the expressway near East 138th Street about 4:19 a.m. when a 2014 Nissan 370Z hit him, NYPD officials said.

He was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center, police said.

The Nissan's driver, a 28-year-old man, remained at the crash site and wasn't immediately charged, police said.
