BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A new hotel and synagogue is set to replace an auto shop on Park Avenue, according to city records.
Permits were filed Monday for a 5-story building at 484 Park Ave. at the corner of Bedford Avenue, designed by architect Karl Fischer.
Plans detail lecture halls and a mikvah, or a ritual bath, in the cellar and a synagogue on the first floor and mezzanine level.
The second through fifth floors would each house 13 hotel rooms, as first reported by New York YIMBY.
Prezant Auto currently occupies the corner lot. Plans to demolish the 1-story property were approved at the end of March, records show.
A representative for Park Bedford Holdings LLC, listed as the buyer on the application for the new building, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The planned hotel and synagogue joins a slew of nearby development along Bedford Avenue, with at least three construction projects rising within a block radius.
