PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A 21-year-old man was found fatally stabbed Sunday across the street from his Prospect-Lefferts Gardens home, police said.

Police found Jaiquan Thorne with a stab wound to the chest in front of 122 Fenimore St., between Flatbush and Bedford avenues, just before 6 a.m., the NYPD said.

Thorne, who lives in a house directly across the street from where he was found, was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital, police said.

On Monday, police arrested 22-year-old Kevin Hall of Patchogue, N.Y., in the stabbing. He is expected to be charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

The stabbing marks the first homicide of the year in the 71st Precinct, which covers southern Crown Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and parts of East Flatbush. Major crimes are down 7 percent overall in the precinct since 2015, according to the most recently available NYPD data.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
