WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — With a new commanding officer at the helm of the 34th Precinct, residents said they hope their concerns with loud nightlife, liquor license approvals and increasing security at local parks will be top priorities.
Dozens of residents attended the 34th Precinct Community Council meeting Wednesday night at the Fort Tryon Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing on 801 W. 190th St. to welcome Deputy Inspector Reymundo Mundo and learn more about his goals.

Mundo, who told DNAinfo after the meeting that he skipped sharing more about his background in order to let community members speak and ask questions, said he was happy to be back in the community he patrolled during the late '90s.
"I feel like I can accomplish a lot, although a lot has been accomplished already," he said during the meeting. "One thing I'm looking forward to is working very closely with the community and businesses."
