Man Threatens Exotic Dancers With Sword After They Mace and Rob Him: NYPD

By Rachel Holliday Smith | March 18, 2016 1:27pm | Updated on March 20, 2016 2:37pm

CROWN HEIGHTS — Two exotic dancers and the man who hired them were arrested last week after the women robbed and maced their client, who retaliated by threatening and chasing them with a sword, police and prosecutors said.

The chaos began after the 55-year-old man met the 27- and 28-year-old dancers in Manhattan on Saturday night, then took them back to his Crown Heights apartment at 990 Montgomery St. around 12:30 a.m. on March 13, police said.

There, he put about $300 in cash on a table and told the women it was for them, police sources and court records said.

But a scuffle broke out when the two women grabbed the money and started to leave, then sprayed mace in the man's face when he tried to stop them, according to court records.

The 55-year-old man then grabbed a sword from inside the apartment and chased them out with it, threatening to kill both women, who fled into a neighboring apartment, according to court records.

Soon afterward, police arrested all three individuals.

The women were charged with multiple counts of assault, robbery and possession of tear gas. The 27-year-old woman was also hit with a controlled substance charge after police found cocaine in her bag.

The 55-year-old man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, harassment, menacing and lying to officers about his name and date of birth; he later told officers he was afraid to give his actual name "because [he] is an MTA worker,” according to records.

All three were arraigned on the charges on March 14 and released, court records show; the 27-year-old woman and the man were each issued a temporary order of protection.

The above incident is part of DNAinfo’s weekly crime blotter compiled from reports to the 71st Precinct in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Crown Heights and East Flatbush.
