MANHATTAN — Investigators are looking into the death of a man who hadn't been seen for more than a week before being found dead on the couch of his Upper East Side apartment Wednesday, police said.

Christopher Cooley, 78, was found in his 11th-floor apartment at 29 E. 64th St., near Madison Avenue, about 8 p.m., NYPD officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Neighbors said they hadn't seen him in more than a week, an NYPD spokesman said.

The city's medical examiner will determine his cause of death, police said.
