What's the best way to take in the massive skylight view of the ribbed World Trade Center Oculus?
Lying down, apparently.
On Monday, WTC Progress tweeted and posted on Facebook a photo showing about 30 people just taking a minute to lie down on the white marble floors of the expansive transportation hub, which opened last week to the public after years of delays.
Its unique white steel structure — like the ribs of a massive bird — has already become a focal point for Instagram photos, despite mixed reviews.
According to a spokesperson for the Port Authority, if this whole lying down business becomes too much of a trend — meaning if visitors block the path of traffic (which is illegal) — it may get broken up.
"It may be a safety issue," said spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
But for now, they haven't gotten any complaints, Pentangelo said.
So take a load off while you can — and maybe before that floor gets too dirty.
This, by the way, is what they are gawking at
