PROSPECT PARK — Spring is peeking around the corner, but there's still a chance to enjoy cold weather fun in Prospect Park.

The last day for ice-skating at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside is Sunday, March 27, and the rink will welcome roller-skaters starting Saturday, April 9, said Lakeside spokesman Timothy Hill.

Visitors have two upcoming chances to see figure skaters do their best Salchows and Toe Loops.

Lakeside hosts the Spring Spectacular figure skating show Saturday, March 12 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The show features single skaters as well as pairs and groups from the Lakeside skate school. Admission to the show is free for spectators.

On March 20, Olympic ice skater Abzal Rakimgaliev of Kazakhstan will be among the performers at the Brooklyn Ice Skating Show. The show's theme this year is "A Tribute to Prospect Park: Birds, Bees, Bears, and Trees" and will include skaters from Brooklyn Ice, the city's only free after-school skating program. Performances are scheduled for 2 and 5 p.m. The 5 p.m. show features skaters from Ice Theatre of New York.

Lakeside's rink is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Admission is $6 on weekdays and $9 on weekends. Skate rentals cost an additional $6.

Hours on Friday are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; weekend pricing starts at 4 p.m. on Fridays. Weekend hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
