NOLITA — New renderings show the likely future of 230 Bowery, the former Salvation Army outpost that developers are turning into one of the neighborhood's latest posh hotels.

As first reported by Bowery Boogie, the Ace Hotel project will add three stories to the property's existing 10-story structure, which was sold in March 2014 for $30 million, according to The New York Times.

The new business, stretching from Bowery to Freeman Alley, will feature 200 hotel rooms, a restaurant that seats 130, a fitness center and a roof deck, according to project architect HAKS.

As part of the effort, a 3-story building next to 230 Bowery was demolished, making way for what HAKS describes as "a courtyard oasis."

The total cost of the project is $65 million, according to HAKS.

Bowery Boogie reports that the Department of Buildings had previously levied a partial stop-work order on the property due to concerns over the design. However, a DOB spokesman said Thursday that no stop-work orders are currently in place, and construction is permitted on the building.
