UPPER EAST SIDE — A construction worker was killed when his own van ran him over in Central Park on Monday morning, police said.

The 56-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, was crushed under the driver's side wheel of the van on East Drive, near East 74th Street, about 6:40 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An NYPD spokesman didn't know how he came to be crushed under his own vehicle.

Police are investigating the man's death, the spokesman added.
