STATEN ISLAND — An off-duty NYPD sergeant was arrested for beating his wife inside their Staten Island home early Monday morning, police said.

Thomas Kennedy, 50, was arrested at about 2:45 a.m. after a fight with his wife turned physical, a spokeswoman for the NYPD said.

During the altercation, Kennedy dragged his wife out of bed by her legs, causing an injury to her back, the New York Post reported.

Kennedy was arrested and charged with assault at the 121 Precinct for the incident, the NYPD said.
