COLUMBUS CIRCLE — A woman riding the A train pulled a fellow passenger’s hair and scratched her face as the train stopped at Columbus Circle, police said.
A 28-year-old woman from New Jersey was on the northbound A train around 7:10 p.m. on Feb. 2 when another woman boarded the train at the Port Authority stop and started acting “disruptive and confrontational” toward several passengers, the victim told police.
When the train pulled into the Columbus Circle station, the 28-year-old got up to move to another train car and told the disruptive passenger that she could “not keep treating people like that,” according to police.
The passenger started pushing the 28-year-old who pushed her away, police said.
At that point, the “disruptive” woman grabbed the 28-year-old by her hair and scratched the left side of her face before exiting the train at the Columbus Circle station, according to police.
The victim of the attack stayed on the A train until the 175th Street stop, where she notified an MTA clerk about it.
She had “visible scratches” on her face from her forehead to her chin but refused medical attention, police said.
