Woman Found Dead in Basement After Bronx House Fire

PARKCHESTER — One woman was killed and four others were injured Saturday in a Bronx fire.

The blaze burned through a three-story home at 1354 Beach Ave. early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Emergency responders said they found a woman in her 60s unconscious in the building’s basement. She was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to officials.

A 59-year-old male and a 68-year-old female were also taken to Jacobi in critical condition, authorities said. A fourth individual, a 68-year-old man, was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

Officials said an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
