QUEENS — Police arrested a man they said had six illegal guns, ammunition and marijuana stashed in a "derelict" car with four flat tires parked in front of his house, sources said Thursday.

Officers Robert DiFalco, Benjamin Aboagye and Joseph Degirolamo of the 103rd Precinct’s Anti-Crime Unit were dressed in plain clothes and on patrol in an unmarked police car about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday when they spotted Terrell Smith, 28, sitting in a white Subaru parked in front of his house, on the corner of 153rd Street and 109th Road in Jamaica.

When they realized that the Subaru had four flat tires, officers decided to get a closer look at the vehicle, which sources described as a "derelict car."

As they came nearer, they saw Smith throwing a gun onto the front seat before jumping out of the car and running away, police said.

The officers, joined by Sgt. Mary Humburg and Officer Daniel Gasperetti, quickly caught up with Smith, who started wrestling with them, police said.

Before they were able to arrest him, Smith and DiFalco fell on the ground. As a result, the officer injured his wrist and was taken to Manhasset Hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

After searching the car, which officials said was not registered to Smith but someone in Pennsylvania, officers discovered a total of six illegal guns, as well as a large quantity of ammunition and some marijuana, according to the NYPD.

The precinct shared the news on Twitter.

Smith faces a slew of charges including assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of marijuana.

He has at least five prior arrests, four of them sealed. In 2013, he was arrested for criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said.

Smith had not been arraigned as of Thursday morning, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.
