Learn Everything About Pre-K Programs at Community Fair

QUEENS — Parents whose kids turn 4 this year will have a chance to learn everything about pre-k programs in Jamaica and beyond during a community fair organized by the Department of Education this Saturday.  

Staff from the DOE and several local pre-k centers will be on hand to discuss various options and help families learn about pre-k sites in the neighborhood as well as across the city, according to the agency.

Parents will also be able to ask questions and fill out applications for the city’s free program for 4-year-olds.

Families are encouraged to bring their children with them. The DOE will be giving away books and entertainment for kids will be provided, the agency said.

The application period began on Jan. 25 and runs through March 4. Offers will be sent in May.

Pre-K Community Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harvest Room located at 90-40 160th St., in Jamaica. There will be staff on hand that speak English, Spanish, Bengali, Urdu and Hindi.
