NEW DORP — A study of every bus line on Staten Island will host its final workshop to gather input from the public next week.
The third workshop will be on Feb. 9, at Staten Island Technical High School. Riders can give their opinions on how to improve service on all 51 lines and they'll be considered as part of the Staten Island Comprehensive Bus Study, the MTA announced.
The workshop will start with a presentation, then attendees will be broken up into smaller groups to discuss bus service with an MTA representative.
Borough President James Oddo and Council Members Steven Matteo and Joe Borelli hosted a press conference to announce the date of the final meeting and urged residents to show up to give feedback on bus routes, which Oddo said haven't changed much since 1963.
Last year, the MTA announced the start of the study that will look at changing travel trends and inefficiencies of current routes, Oddo previously said.
Aside from the workshops, the MTA will talk to riders at bus stops and ride with them. They'll also track MetroCard usage and GPS data and poll satisfaction levels of riders.
The city expects the study to be finished by the winter of this year, Oddo said.
