Any time there's news of an impending storm, New Yorkers take it as a cue to rush to their local grocery and stock up on all the food their refrigerators haven't chilled in months — especially when you feel like you can't order Seamless in good conscience.
As of Friday morning, we had the blessing of Mayor Bill de Blasio, who urged city residents to stay indoors Saturday and Sunday on CNN.
But city residents were preparing for the snowpocalypse — a forecasted 8 to 12 inches of the fluffy white stuff — hours before then.
It began with a line outside the Cobble Hill Trader Joe's Thursday night
At this Trader Joe's, there's always a rush hour, but we imagine a lot of the shoppers pictured here were stocking up on toilet paper and edamame hummus — you know, the essentials.
Honestly, there's no need to even look at the forecast on Weather.com
Just head over to your neighborhood Whole Foods
And peer into the beleaguered eyes of your fellow customers, who all wish they'd stocked up earlier.
And have some compassion for the supermarket employees, okay?
At least someone is keeping things in perspective
Because things are way worse in D.C.
