FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A favorite British steakhouse is on its way to New York.

English restaurant Hawksmoor is bringing its quality meats to Three World Trade Center, the eatery announced Tuesday.

The 14,000-square-foot WTC restaurant, slated to open in 2017, will be the steakhouse's first U.S. location.

Hawksmoor, first launched in 2006, now has several locations in London. Known for its locally sourced, dry-aged beef, the company will source its meat and other ingredients from America's "best farms," according to the announcement.

"The opportunity to open a restaurant in one of the city's most important landmarks is thrilling and humbling all at once," said co-owner Will Beckett in a statement. "It is also the biggest challenge we've ever had, but we hope that if we can bring our passion for sourcing, standards, ethics and hospitality to the restaurant we can become a long-lasting part of New York's amazing restaurant scene."

The menu will be similar to the original with a variety of beef cuts, along with a selection of English specialties, including potted beef and bacon, beef dripping chips, and clams and braised trotters (pig's feet).

Along with beef, the restaurant is also focused on its classic and specialty cocktails.
