HARLEM — Police are searching for eight people involved in a Christmas Day shooting and beating that left a 34-year-old man in critical condition.

Tuesday morning the NYPD released a photo of one of the suspects, who is between 17 and 25 years old, has a scar under his right eye and wore a blue and black sweatshirt.

The attack happened on 116th Street between Manhattan and Morningside avenues about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, according to the NYPD.

One member of the group shot the victim in the right leg. Once he was on the ground the other seven pounced on him, hitting his head and other parts of his body before running away.

Paramedics took the man to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about any of the eight suspects to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477. All calls are confidential.
