Man Grabs Young Girl, Kisses Another at UWS Shake Shack, Police Say

UPPER WEST SIDE — A man grabbed a 12-year-old girl by the wrist inside Shake Shack and then hugged and kissed a 13-year-old girl outside the burger spot on Monday morning, police said. 

The man first approached the 12-year-old on the stairs inside the burger spot at 366 Columbus Ave., at West 77th Street, at 11:30 a.m., police said.

He then grabbed the girl's wrist, but she pulled away and the suspect continued down the stairs, police said. 

About five to 10 minutes later, the suspect approached a 13-year-old girl outside Shake Shack, asked her her name, and hugged her and kissed her on the cheek, police said.

When the victim pulled away, the man fled along Columbus Avenue. Police did not say in what direction he headed. 

The suspect is described as standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 155 pounds, with black hair and wearing a black waist-length leather jacket, dark blue pants and black sneakers.
