SOHO — Two women were robbed of a selfie stick and their purses at gunpoint less than a block from their Greene Street apartment last week, police said.

The women, a 23-year-old and a 30-year-old, told police that they were walking home at about 11:50 p.m. on Friday when a man approached them outside of 72 Greene St., police said. The robber quickly took out a handgun and demanded they give him their purses.

The 23-year-old handed over her bag, while the 30-year-old initially refused. The robber then pushed the gun into her stomach, police said, and she gave up her personal items. Along with wallets, the thief took their gloves and a selfie stick.

The man then jumped into a car waiting for him on the street, and the robbers drove off.
