The food truck Frites‘n’Meats, which slugs out scrumptious burgers, now has a brick and mortar joint on Grand Street in Williamsburg that opened this November. You can build your own heart-stopping burger by selecting your kind of meat, choice of bun, cheese and toppings, all served up with their double fried Belgian-style fries.

Craft beer fans will appreciate the wide selection at the new Amity Hall, which has another location in Greenwich Village, and burger lovers will appreciate the signature burger piled with Gruyere, bacon jam and crispy shallots on a pretzel bun.

Bikash Karel brings traditional Nepalese and Indian fare to Clinton Hill with Spice & Grill, which opened earlier this week on Myrtle Avenue at the former home of Mark’s Gourmet Burgers. The restaurant specializes in grilled meats, but also offers plenty of meatless options. Try Nepali specialties like chicken or veggie Momo, a type of dumpling that comes steamed or fried, and Indian classics, including a variety of curries.

This quaint cafe offers omelettes, breakfast wraps, salads, sandwiches, small plates, and entrees for $13. They also have an espresso and juice bar.

This specialty coffee shop only uses coffee beans that are newly harvested, for peak freshness. The modern cafe, something of an anomaly in an otherwise sparse underground subway concourse, also serves up a selection of sweets, and a special breakfast smoothie made with banana, baby spinach, plant protein, raw cacao, and, if you like, some shots of espresso.

A casual Greek eatery whose menu includes souvlaki, kebabs, salads, gyros and “gyro shots” — mini gyros served in a shot glass, the equivalent of hamburger sliders. The owner told DNAinfo in April that they were planning to use organic ingredients and antibiotic-free meats as often as possible.

A ton of creative noodle and rice dishes are on the menu at this new Brooklyn outpost of Thai favorite Plant Love House in Elmhurst, Queens. The new spot on Washington Avenue advertises “Thai home cooking” and has sit-down and take-out service. Fair warning: it’s cash only.

Open since: The restaurant has been open since 2013, but started serving brunch in Sept. 2015 and just launched a new winter menu.
Type of cuisine: “Market-driven” French

Wallflower’s new winter menu includes foie gras mousse with concord jelly ($14), peekytoe crab salad with meyer lemon gelée and fennel ($18), bacon-weapped pork tenderloin with polenta and sour cherries ($30), or a half-dozen oysters ($18).

They also offer a tasting menu for $65, which includes appetizers for the table to share and a choice of one of three entrees and one of three desserts. The brunch menu, which launched in September, is served every weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dishes include a roasted half-lobster with creamy grits and sauteed cherry tomatoes ($24) and a bacon quesadilla with a fried egg ($15).
