COLUMBIA STREET WATERFRONT DISTRICT — Carla Hall's Brooklyn waterfront restaurant received a fresh new exterior last week in anticipation of a February opening.

On December 22, Hall, co-host of ABC's "The Chew," posted pictures to her Facebook account of an artist painting the words "A love letter to Nashville" on the brick exterior at 115 Columbia Street, the future home of Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen.

"Words cannot express the joy and emotion I feel watching my first restaurant come together," Hall wrote.

The Columbia Street hot chicken restaurant will open sometime in February, representatives from the restaurant's publicity team at Bullfrog + Baum told DNAinfo on Wednesday.

Hall raised $264,703 from 1,550 people on Kickstarter to fund the restaurant, which the campaign's page called "a slow-cooked, fast-served neighborhood eatery serving up old-fashioned southern comfort goodness."

The restaurant will occupy the former home of one of Pok Pok NY's spinoffs, the Whiskey Soda Lounge, which closed this summer.

In addition to adding some southern flavor to the Columbia Street Waterfront District, the Nashville-born celebrity chef earlier proposed spicing up the name of the neighborhood.

"We're heading to Brooklyn baby!" Hall wrote on her Kickstarter page on July 3. "More specifically Cobble Hook, between Red Hook and Cobble Hill."
