TIMES SQUARE — The area around Times Square and much of Midtown will be a snarl of pedestrians with silly hats, "2016" glasses and noisemakers on New Year's Eve. In order to accommodate the crowds and keep revelers safe, the city is shutting down a wide swath of streets in Midtown.

Check the list, plan ahead, and remember that the NYPD is urging people to use public transportation when at all possible.
