CROWN HEIGHTS — A deli owner fought off an armed robber and turned the gun back on the would-be thieves, who fled without taking anything, police said.

Two men entered the A and B Deli at 99 Schenectady Ave. at 3:40 p.m on Dec. 22, police said.

One of the suspects walked over to the counter area while the other confronted the shop's 34-year-old worker, displaying a gun and demanding he move over to the cash register, the NYPD said.

The employee fought the armed suspect, taking the man's gun — which police said turned out to be a BB gun.

Both would-be robbers fled, with one taking off in a Nissan Maxima that went east on Dean Street and the other running down Dean on foot, police said.

The shopkeeper was hit in the head during the fight but refused medical treatment, the NYPD said.

The first suspect was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with "H20" written in white on the front, a scarf, sungalsses and gloves, police said. The second suspect was wearing a Champion hooded sweatshirt and a backpack.

Anyone with information on the suspects can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
