UNION SQUARE — Popular salad monger Sweetgreen will open a new location in Union Square next week.

The salad shop will open its seventh New York location on Monday at 8 E. 18th St. between Broadway and Fifth Avenue.

Offerings include kale Caesar and rad thai salad, made with organic arugula, organic mesclun, sprouts, carrots, shredded cabbage, spicy sunflower seeds, cucumbers, basil, citrus shrimp and spicy cashew dressing.

All proceeds from sales on opening day will go to Edible Schoolyards NYC, a group that reinforces healthy eating habits in kids by teaching gardening, cooking and nutrition.

Sweetgreen, which was founded in Washington, D.C., courts socially conscious diners with healthy, transparently sourced ingredients and has expanded since its start in 2007 to include shops in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles.
