MEATPACKING DISTRICT — Legendary biker bar Hogs & Heifers is officially gone.

The Meatpacking mainstay closed over the summer due to a massive rent hike, the owner said at the time.

Now the storefront at 859 Washington St., once plastered with stickers for various unions and law enforcement agencies, has been completely replaced with steel and glass, showcasing an empty, pearly white-painted interior.

The building is inside the bounds of the Gansevoort Market Historic District, so the owners had to get the city's permission to change the building's appearance. The Landmarks Preservation Commission apparently approved the replacement of the storefront infill last summer.

But a little piece of the old bar remains, at least for now. A small painting on the side of the building features the face of a cow surrounded by the words "Hogs & Heifers Saloon."
