WEST VILLAGE — A French street artist picked Pier 40 and the Waverly Diner as two of 186 sites for his "urban acupuncture" installation.
The artist goes by the name "Invader," and seeks out the "neuralgic points" of cities, according to the Hudson River Park website.
He appears to have done several of the pieces with the permission of the property owners, including Hudson River Park and the Standard Hotel.
