KIPS BAY— Police are searching for the man accused of trying to rape a 48-year-old woman in the stairwell of the Straus House on Thanksgiving Day.

Dominique Frazier, 31, forced a woman to perform a sexual act on him, then tried to rape her at 344 East 28th St. around noon, according to the NYPD.

When the victim fought back, Frazier grabbed her purse and ran down the stairs, police said.

The victim chased him to the lobby and, with the help of a passerby, recovered her purse, police said. Frazier got away by running into an elevator.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated and released.

Frazier, who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, was arrested on Nov. 9 for a robbery, police said.

Those with information regarding the suspect should contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1 (800) 577-TIPS or by visiting nypdcrimestoppers.com.
