Man Uses Fire Escape to Break Into Woodside Apartment, Police Say

WOODSIDE — Police are searching for a man who climbed a fire escape and broke into an apartment in Queens Thursday afternoon.

The suspect entered the second floor apartment on 56th Street near 39th Avenue through the fire escape around 1:30 p.m., stealing jewelry and an unknown amount of cash, according to the NYPD.

The man stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 180 pounds, police said.
