SOUTH BRONX — Police arrested a machete-wielding man for robbing a wheelchair-bound victim and a laundromat earlier this month.

Jose Aguilar, 59, has been charged with first degree robbery for stealing cash from a laundromat on Nov. 6 and with third degree robbery for knocking a man out of his wheelchair and snatching his wallet on Nov. 2, according to the NYPD.

Officers believe that Aguilar pushed a 52-year-old man out of his wheelchair inside his building on Southern Boulevard and grabbed his wallet once he got him to the floor, which contained $116 and his ID.

He is also accused of robbing the Giant Laundromat at 700 Southern Blvd. with a machete that he used to help pry open a locked cabinet door and grab some money from a register.

Aguilar had not been arraigned as of late Thursday afternoon.
