The Mets Season May Be Over, But We Still Have These Beautiful Murals

November 2, 2015 1:18pm | Updated November 2, 2015 3:17pm

QUEENS — The New York Mets lost to the Kansas City Royals 7-2 last night at home, blowing their chances of a miraculous comback to win the World Series.

All that we have left of the Mets' World Series run — including a dramatic series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and a mighty sweep of the Chicago Cubs — are the memories.

And the murals.

Artists began turning the grates on empty storefronts in Willets Point, across from the stadium, as soon as the division was clinched.

Some even popped up in other places around the city, giving fans something else to cheer about.
