JAMAICA — Long Island Rail Road service in and out of Jamaica station was suspended briefly Monday morning after reports of a "chemical release," FDNY officials said.

Firefighters responded to the call at the AirTrain terminal at Sutphin Boulevard and 94th Avenue about 9:50 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman.

It was unclear if the incident was on a train or inside the station, or what chemical was thought to be involved, according to officials.

Six people were being evaluated at the scene for minor inhalation problems, an FDNY spokesman said.

Train service was delayed due to the investigation.
