QUEENS — A group of girls assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Jamaica Wednesday afternoon, police sources said.

The victim, who was attacked around 4 p.m. near the intersection of 160th Street and 90th Avenue in downtown Jamaica, was taken to Jamaica Hospital conscious and alert, but she suffered minor injuries and was knocked unconscious for a short time after the assault, sources said.

It was not immediately clear why the victim was attacked and how many girls assaulted her.

Police arrested two teenage girls, 14 and 15, who participated in the assault, sources said.
