CONCOURSE — The city and New York Restoration Project have rescheduled plans to plant their 1 millionth tree in the wake of the death of Officer Randolph Holder.
The NYRP and Parks Department teamed up in 2007 to plant 1 million trees throughout the city and had intended to plant the final tree of the project on Oct. 21 at noon in Joyce Kilmer Park.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and NYRP founder Bette Midler were scheduled to attend, but officials have postponed the event due to the death of Holder, according to the parks department.
A new date for the event has not been set yet, officials said.
