Fire Tears Through Greenpoint Hardware Store, FDNY Says

BROOKLYN — A Greenpoint hardware store erupted in flames Tuesday morning, officials said.

The fire tore through the first floor of 817 Manhattan Ave., near Calyer Street, about 12:44 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

About 106 firefighters brought the blaze under control about 2:20 a.m., the spokesman said.

Two firefighters were treated at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for minor injuries, officials said.
