SOUTH BRONX — A man died Wednesday morning after the car he was driving crashed into a center median on the Bruckner Expressway, police said.
Wendell Cheeseboro, 29, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger northbound on the highway around 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday near exit 52, when it struck the center median of the road, according to the NYPD.
EMS took Cheeseboro and his passenger, a 26-year-old man, to Jacobi Hospital, where Cheeseboro was pronounced dead, police said.
The passenger broke his right leg and right arm, according to the NYPD.
Speed appears to be a factor in the accident, and the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the accident, police said.
