KIPS BAY — Police arrested a 19-year-old and two younger girls for trespassing in a Kips Bay public housing complex after the trio couldn't explain why they were in the building, according to a police report.
Officers stopped Jordan Rivera and his two juvenile companions at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 to ask why they were wandering around the second-floor hallway of the Nathan Straus houses at 224 E. 28th St., police said.
Each of the youths gave officers a different reason for being in the building, police said. When one of the girls told police they were looking to buy "smokes," Rivera immediately tried to split, flailing his arms and running away from the officers, according to a report.
Police caught up with Rivera and charged him with resisting arrest and trespassing, according to a report. A judge released Rivera without bail and he is due back in court on Nov. 9, court records show.
Officers also found marijuana on one of Rivera's pals, according to a police report.
Rivera’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
