Man Steals Money From Collection Box At Jewish Center: Police

QUEENS — A man stole about $300 from a collection box at a Jewish center in Forest Hills on Monday, police said.

The burglary happened at Beth Gavriel Center for Bukharian Jews at 66-35 108th St. around 12:40 a.m., officials said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, who police said entered the center and took about $300 from the collection box before fleeing, authorities said.

The man entered through a side door, which was left unlocked, police said. 

Authorities described the suspect as in his mid-40s, partially bald, with a beard. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering on the front of the shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
