7-Year-Old Girl Hit by Stray Bullet, Police Say

THE BRONX — A 7-year-old girl walking through Melrose was hit by a stray bullet Sunday night, police said.

The girl, whose name was not immediately released, was outside 821 Cauldwell Ave., near East 158th Street, about 8:55 p.m. when a bullet grazed her left ankle, an NYPD spokesman said.

She was treated at Lincoln Medical Center and later released, police said.

There were no immediate arrests and an NYPD spokesman said he did not have any suspect information.
