BROOKLYN — Officials offered $12,500 for information about the shooting of a Gov. Andrew Cuomo staffer the morning of Labor Day's West Indian Day Parade, police said.

Carey Gabay, the 43-year-old first deputy general counsel at Empire State Development Corp., was critically injured when a stray bullet hit him in the head on Bedford Avenue, near Montgomery Street, about 3:40 a.m., police said.

There were no arrests as of Tuesday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.

The Harvard graduate was listed in critical condition at Kings County Hospital, police said.

"Carey is an outstanding public servant," Cuomo said.

"[He is] a kind-hearted man. Carey is a friend to all who have the pleasure of meeting him," the governor added.

The NYPD offered $10,000 for information that lead to the shooter's arrest and conviction.

Crime Stoppers offered an additional $2,500 for information that lead to an arrest and indictment.

Violence near the Monday parade killed one man and injured four people, including Gabay, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
