'RENT' Returns to the Stage for Sold-Out Run in Long Island City

Iconic rock musical "RENT" will return to the stage next month, Playbill.com reported — this time for a four-day run at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City, where shows are already sold out.

5th Floor Theatre Company is staging this production of the Jonathan Larson musical, about a group of friends and artists living in the East Village during its grittier days. The show was on Broadway at the Nederlander Theater for 12 years before closing in 2008, and was revived at an Off-Broadway theater in 2011.

Tickets for the Sept. 23-27 shows at The Secret Theatre are already sold out, but the venue tweeted Tuesday that it's in discussions with the show's producers about a possible extension.
