DITMARS — A neighborhood coffee shop that opened last year is expanding into an adjacent space next door this fall, adding a kitchen and a new food menu.

60 Beans, located on Ditmars Boulevard and 36th Street and owned by the team behind the popular Brooklyn Bagel and Coffee Company, is currently renovating its site and expanding into the space next door.

The expansion will allow the cafe — which currently serves up coffee, beer, wine, pastries and sandwiches — to add a kitchen, according to owner Peter Voyiatzis.

Chef Domenick Gianfrancesco is developing a new menu with more food options that will include homemade pasta, charcuterie and burgers, Voyiatzis said.

The overhaul will also add more tables and seating in the back of the space. 60 Beans will remain open during most of the construction and may only close for a night or two, he said.

"We are excited to bring a special space and an amazing experience to #‎Ditmars Boulevard in #‎Astoria!" the cafe wrote on its Facebook page announcing the expansion.

The renovations should wrap up in early fall, according to Voyiatzis.
