CLINTON HILL — Authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, Patti Smith, Jonathan Franzen and others will hit the books at St. Joseph's College on Clinton Avenue this fall.
The college and the Greenlight Bookstore have organized a series of "literary presentations and discussions" from September to November.
Jonathan Frazen kicks off the series Sept. 26 with a discussion of his new novel "Purity." The evening of Oct. 8, Patti Smith reads from and discusses her new memoir, "M Train."
Ta-Nehisi Coates will discuss his "Between the World and Me" with his Atlantic editoron Oct. 15.
Kristin Hersch will read from her "Don’t Suck, Don’t Die: Giving Up Vic Chesnutt" on Oct. 21 and give a musical performance. On Nov. 12, co-writers of "Welcome to Night Vale" Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor will read from and discuss their work.
The series takes place at 245 Clinton Ave. in St. Joseph's College's Tuohy Hall. With the exception of the Franzen program which begins at 6:30 p.m., events will start at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are already available and range in cost from $20-$30 and include a copy of the author's latest work.
