CENTRAL PARK — To celebrate the reopening of Central Park's iconic Bow Bridge, an engagement-photography company is offering couples a discount — for better or for worse.

Those who propose on or in front of the bridge with help from Paparazzi Proposals in August will get a $100 discount on their service, which normally costs $495, according to spokeswoman Hilary Ribons.

The package includes a free consultation, proposal planning, a photographer at the proposal and an engagement shoot. The newly engaged couple will get 100 or more high resolution photos online in three to four business days following the event.

From April to August, the Central Park Conservancy worked with two contractors to sandblast, repaint and fix up the intricately designed, photogenic bridge.

Paparazzi Proposals has taken photos of hundreds of proposals either on the bridge or with the bridge in the background over the years, according to company owner James Ambler.

When the company found out the Bow Bridge had finally opened after a three-month rehabilitation, it decided to take advantage of the good news.

"Bow Bridge has been an integral part of Paparazzi Proposals' growth," Ambler said. "We are so excited to see it fully restored and looking better than ever — just in time for some incredible late summer and fall proposals. We believe that Paris has Love Bridge, and New York City has Bow Bridge."
