BROOKLYN — An 82-year-old woman was about two blocks from home when she was fatally hit by a dump truck in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Ora Walker was crossing over Broadway at Gates Avenue about 3:35 p.m. when the 40-year-old driver drove his Mack truck onto Broadway and struck her, NYPD officials said. The truck driver had the green light, police said.
Walker, who lived nearby on Gates Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver was not immediately arrested, police said.
